Here’s the Cretaceous diorama from Dinosaurs In The Round . When you have to do a cardboard cut-out 3D piece, the computer layering system is quite valuable . Here I tried to put together all the layers as they would have been seen in flattened 2D horizontal position (and that is not counting the enormous amount of layers I had already used in the creation of every figure)… obviously I planned the maquette layer upon layer starting with Triceratops at the front (T. rex next and Edmontosaurus in the far back).
Same with the other two dioramas:
Jurassic (with Pterodactylus, Diplodocus, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus hidden in the forest and a Camarasaurus and Brachiosaurus herd in the far background)
… and Triassic, with Eudimorphodon, Coelophysis, Rutiodon, Placerias and Postosuchus in the background)
… the water here is supposed to be translated in a plastic sheet… the team at Quarto Publishing did a really good job in the presentation of the package. All in all good volcanic vintage fun!

I really like your incrediable artwork, your bold style, and fantastic detail make for a unique style for paleo-art. I even own a few of your prints that I picked up at previous SVP meetings, the collection grows every time I attend a meeting. The new rounds from 3D to 2D are amazing, I like them all, but I’m partial to the Cretaceous diorama of Tyrannosaurus rex attacking the “bruised’ and “broken” Triceratops. I would LOVE to get a print of that, always enjoy your artwork, keep up the fantastic work!
Thanks for the feedback… un fortunately I cannot offer you any prints for the time being, mostly because the real good prints of my artwork are now being managed by Flo Magovern and the Stone Company. If you like you can get in contact and make the request through them. It was the only real way I could offer professional prints of my artwork that will make the pieces some justice… alternatively you can try to get “Dinosaurs In The Round” (I’m sure it is still available) and have the same image 3D in a pop-up book!

Son únicas las reconstrucciones de dinosaurios con plumaje y los detalles que hacen distinto su trabajo al de los demás paleo-artistas. Soy un gran admirados suyo
Señor Rey, aparte de la guía de campo de los dinosaurios, ¿hay algún otro libro suyo versión español?. Yo vivo en México y puede decirse que muy seguido lo investigo pero no logro encontrar algo, hubo dos ocasiones (en dos librerías distintas) que me dijeron que anteriormente tuvieron el producto pero, que en ese momento ya no había porque al parecer la editorial ya había dejado de producir los libros y se descontinuo.
Me encantaría tener en mis manos alguna obra suya
Antonio… Gracias por tus comentarios. El único libro que sé está traducido al castellano es “La Guía de Campo de Dinosaurios” (Field Guide To Dinosaurs) por Henry Gee y yo mismo. Lamentablemente nada más. La mayoría de mis libros se pueden conseguir en Amazon y algunos se pueden buscar en librerías en México… con respecto a bibliotecas en México, pues no conozco ninguna (ni mucho menos que tenga mis libros) pero tal vez en librerías como la Gandhi (he visto libros míos allá, incluyendo el 3D pop-up “Dinosaurs In The Round”)… sin embargo, si visitas la casa de mi buen amigo Tiburcio Soteno en Metepec (Estado de México) lo más probable es que te puedan enseñar todos mis libros… los tienen todos!
